Labor Day weekend 2016
Friday September 2nd
Parade at 6pm Line up will be at the McGill grade School parade will proceed down 2nd street. Theme of this year’s Parade is “United WE Stand” Any one or any groups are welcome to come join the parade
Street Dance Starts right after parade until 12pm
MVFD will have their Beer booth set up along with the MRA, and anyone else who would like to set up a booth. We will have live music and lots of room for you to dance.
Saturday September 3rd
Color me fun run/walk Starts at 8am we are in the process of opening an online registration you will also be able to register at 7am Saturday. This Event will Start at the McGill Grade School.
McGill town picnic will kick off at 11am at the McGill swimming pool park. We will have free hamburgers and Hot dogs provided by the McGill Town Council. MRA will be selling Ice cream and T Shirts, Fire Department will have all drinks for you to enjoy, Carnival games for the kids to enjoy and other activities. We are in the process of reaching out to vendors to come set up Booths for you to shop from. Anyone wanting to set up a booth please call Brenda @
Lackawanna fire will be holding horse shoe tournament. More information on this will follow as we get it. Also don’t forget the McGill Pools Famous Labor Day Big Splash.
Sunday September 4th.
Softball between WPCSO and MVFD will start at 5pm. This year all gate fees for non-players will be donated to the WPCS Athletic programs along with Ely’s Learning Bridge Athletics. The fire Department will be setting up their drink booth with all proceeds from sales on this day going to the School’s Athletic fundraising program. Directly after game the ball field will be opened up for the public to come in. We are in the process of getting food vendors for the night of the game also. These Vendors will be the School’s Athletic programs so all proceeds will go to them. The public will be able to come into the Baseball Park to sit and enjoy the fireworks at Dusk. So clear your Calendars and join us for a fun filled weekend, while supporting many different groups.
